There are definitely too few of us....I think it's a 50/50 battle.  Sometimes it takes the gentle side of a woman to close a deal just as strongly as the men, just in a different way.  We are less intimidating and we listen to everything the customer is saying.  I also think in today's market the woman of the family holds the final decision where the money is concerned and sometimes a Female Manager can relate better to that customer.  I know since i've taken the Management Position, the GM has stated several times that the deal closed smoother because of him being able to send me in.  People in general don't seem as defensive toward me than they do toward the Hard Aggressive Male Manager.....just saying...

Women in general may work more toward collaboration, have less ego (amazing what can be accomplished when it isn't so important on who get credit) with a higher appreciation of the need for work life balance - which can be a good thing in a manager.  However I don't like to make generalized statements regarding are men or women better at something. There are characteristics - fairness, creditablity, selflessness, focus-  that are equally important for both women and men in a leadership role.
