Informally, but as accurately as possible, how much of an investment in training & development of personnel do dealerships spend/perform by Department?

Specifically, I am interested in knowing how much, as it compares to the grand total is spent on Fixed Operations personnel training and development

IE. we spend $100,000 per year on training in total and $35,000 of it is spent on Fixed Operations personnel specifically OR 30% of our Total Training and Development investment is purely Fixed Ops OR we have a Sales Staff trainer come in for a week once per month and a Service Staff Trainer come in once every other month for a week, etc.

Please don't include the manufacturer "required" training or technician training either. Please dont provide how much you "expensed" to Fixed Ops either, unless of course, that amount was actually and purely dedicated to training Fixed Ops personnel.

Ultimately, I am interested in knowing, how much you as a dealership CHOOSE to invest in the development of your Fixed Operations personnel?

Feel free to share non-statistical comments/opinions as well on this topic!

Thanks for taking a moment!

I budget for 2% of my Gross Profit for training.
Thanks William - and how much of that 2% is dedicated to Fixed Ops?
