I have an Internet Manager who has the primary responsibility of managing 4 Internet Sales Managers. How are stores designing a pay plan for an Internet Manager? Based off total closing %’s for the department/ISM’s? After all, pay plans are essentially “job descriptions.”

An Internet department manager should have a salary, a % of total gross from all deals that came from the Internet department, and a volume bonus.

On all occasions, I've negotiated a tier plan. If between x-y cars are sold, bonus is X amount. As the tier increases, so does the bonus.

The first internet department that I worked in, as representatives, we got "sales x sales". As in, if I brought in 20 people in a month who bought a car, then I got a $400 bonus. If Tom brought in 50 people who purchased, he got $2500. The manager got a collective sum of all of our bonuses, so if it were just me and tom, he'd have gotten $2900.

I agree with Stan though. Seems like the most appropriate. Although I do like the idea of a tier system, just for encouragement.
