Introducing Car Sales version 3.1 The Age of the Order Taker?!?

Being referred to as an "Order Taker" has for the decade of my tenure in the retail automotive space been consider a derogatory term. As much as it pains me to post this, I can no longer deny the signs of it rapidly becoming a "best practice". I will always be proud of being a great salesman, hanging my hat on the tenets of Persistence, Tenacity and Perseverance. Succumbing to the weight of this looming generational transition I've put together these points and would like to hear your feedback-

Changing my point of view regarding my definition of salesmanship.
When I think Closer I am beginning to think Communicator
When I think Sneaky I am beginning to think Transparency
When I think Ruthless I am beginning to think Accountable
When I think Stud I am beginning to think Star
When I think Grinder I am beginning to think Resilient
When I think “Just get them in” I am beginning to think “Just answer the question”
When I think Perseverance I plan to keep doing that because at the end of the day true salesmanship is, was and will always be about Perseverance. It is up to me to develop the model for my team to follow, I ask myself where I would like to lead them and then I get going!

I've let go of my addiction to the rush that comes with closing a pounder; with its peaks of invincibility and its unavoidable valleys of despair; I've let it all go.

I have introduced myself to the addiction of feeling good about doing good work!

Am I alone? Am I wrong?

Nice post Kevin.  Nothing replaces a great salesperson!  You keep doing what you're doing and enjoy the success that comes with being a professional salesperson.  There are too many "order takers" in this world.  It's refreshing to have someone stand out and shout...I'm A SALESPERSON!  Congratulations.
