What are some more hip titles for sales consultants in this digital age?  What can we put on are name tags other than sales consultant and sales professional?   Thanks for the feedback

I used to work at the Walser Automotive Group here in Minneapolis and we were called "Customer Specialists." I have also heard Product Specialist's pretty recently. Hope you find something that fits your dealership!

OK, this isn't exactly an answer to your question as worded. Its more of a question in response to your question to get you thinking outside the box or, better yet, as if there is no box. Why do your salespeople need a title? Or, why do they all need the same title?

We talk about salespeople needing to build their own brand and differentiating themselves from their competitors. Let them come up with their own tile as part of that process. I'd love to have an 'Ace of Accords' or 'Relationship Builder' or 'Customer Care Champion' on my staff.

thanks Alan great stuff

Sales specialist
Client liaison
Brand X specialist
I agree with Alan, does it really matter? Plain simple
Sales, does the title help sell, probably not, it's the
person the buy from. I just looked my business card has me
as a sales executive, but I'm just Pat to my customers.

I do agree but when you are changing the culture and allowing the sales team to select the title or just plain having fun is the reason.   Whether we like it or not customers are scared of sales Consultants and hate to show up at a dealership anything we can do to seperate are self form the stereotype I am all for.  Like Mike T says that door swings on small hinges,  small things matter

Let me go just a little different way with this as well since Pat mentioned his business card. If you provide the same lame business cards to all of your employees, STOP! Give them a certain dollar allowance that you will contribute and maybe a deal you have worked out with a printer and let them design and buy their own cards. Jeffrey Gitomer says that if your potential customer doesn't stop when you hand them your card and say, "Wow, that's a nice (or different) card." then your card is going in the stack with all the rest. Make your business card different. Make it memorable and let your salespeople do the same.

Alan
I think this going nowhere, what is the purpose of the business card?
Contact names and contact numbers email etc.
It's basic stuff and it will be disposed of in a short timeframe. Did a business card ever clinch a deal? I doubt it.
I would be more concerned about its use. Once it contains company logo, brand logos and name and contact details, will photos etc make someone keep it?
It's important to carry them at all times

I have closed many deals with a business card Alan.

I don't get your reply here, Daniel, unless maybe you meant to direct it at Pat who seems to not like business cards. I absolutely think you need cards and I, too, have closed deals with my card. My point is to make it different, make it stand out from the pack. I've seem people make theirs a slightly larger size, use photos, thicker stock, dress up as super heroes, etc. in order to make their cards stand out. In today's business climate, a salesperson (and a dealership) needs to do whatever it can to differentiate themselves from the competition and even something as small as a business card can help make that happen.

Agreed Alan great point different is better
