Has anyone used Zag http://www.zag.com/? If so, any success?

We use Zag, and we get some good leads from them, but they are pretty expensive...$300 or $400 if you sell the car. On top of the discounts you are expected to give. If you do use them make sure your sales staff logs their customers in CRM.  We get a lot of people who come in, then go online and inquire, and your stuck paying if you don't have them logged as a previous customer. Hope this helps.

I would only suggest zag leads to a store that goes for Units over Profit, very low profit to be made if any. But will produce Units in a Metro or high Volume traffic area. Expect leads to be any where from 10 miles aways to over 300 miles, they will want to have everything lined up and ready to go when they show up. Make you sure have the inventory to compliment the leads. 

For a Rural area like me it did not go well as we hold gross over units. But if I lived in a Big City and have over 150 New car inventory would be worth a shot. 

 

Zag is nice because you only pay for leads you sell, but like Erik said they are costly. 

 

Yes, I have. It is all in the set up of the ZAG- True Car Program. I have been converting for a while a lot of the ZAG  and their Partner's leads and I have been in a situation where people that set up the Portal do not know how to do it the right way.

It is best to have one or two reps handle the account and list them on the ZAG Price certificate. If this is not set up perfect the traffic just goes all over the floor and the process is not handled properly, Clients will leave. Also it brings the customer back that left yesterday .... this is based on proven statistics.

True Car is better and larger than most lead providers, technology is up to date and yes you pay for the lead when sold.

Make sure you send in proof ( original Lead with date) if it is not a ZAG originating Client, they refund.

Besides generating your own traffic which I believe is the best, any suggestions on Lead providers?

Have used ZAG in a couple stores...currently it does produce leads/sales but with a price.  Would suggest self auditing the ZAG invoice every couple weeks. If a client has gone to ZAG site after you have begun the sales process you stand a chance of disputing the charges on the invoice.

Dealers, let's get smart and stop letting Zag hurt your business.  I know that you guys got sold on the fact that you don't pay for leads and you only pay for when car gets sold.  You are giving them your data and letting them use it against you.  They take your low prices and use it to lure customers to dealerships expecting the same unrealistic price.  

Please look at these blogs that were posted on here in the last few days.  Look at how many dealers are dissatisfied with them.  Why would you want to be partnered with a company that is not doing anything in your favor.  Last time I checked, we sign up with vendors because they are supposed to help us sell more cars more profitably not hurt our business.
