Just a friendly suggestion, but it would be nice if DealerElite could add a LinkedIn tab to the import friends list. Like many of us, we have worked with so many people in the industry that it would take forever to enter email addresses one by one. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration and have a great evening.

Best Regards,
Bill Goodfriend

BE DEAF WHEN OTHERS GET NEGATIVE

I appreciate the intent behind the current Poll here on Dealer Elite, really I do, but I think that the end result has really missed the mark. Many of you are also ADM members and know by now that I helped to organize a series of Webinars where trainers and service specialists from around the country could have a venue from which to present their best practice scenarios. I was compelled to do this after a "Battle of the Trainers" webinar went wrong and we ended up with a lot of negativity. I still maintain that we are sitting on some of the greatest opportunities for shared knowledge our industry has ever had because of the advances in technology. My belief is that there is no best trainer, rather there are "best fit" trainers. Personality certainly factors into a dealer's decision, as well as what their end goal by hiring a trainer really is. Is it possible that each of the individuals on the list could greatly, and in different ways, impact the forward motion of a given dealership? I think it is. I hate to see the negative energy being put into this, and the behind the scenes negative commentary detracting from the fact that we can all learn something from one another. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for competition and that's what the free market is about. I just don't think this is the place.

Bobby is absolutely right- until you serve you can not expect any close to be successful!
to the degree you sincerely take care of someone will determine the gross you can justify in the close- no one is paying for the car today- the gross is in the service and the experience-
unless you are the only one with the product, which I double very seriously!

Bottom line Grant, Can't please everyone. I know that I get lots of great ideas from this site. One of the benefits of email, is you only have to read the ones that you want to read. I hope that everyone continues to post their ideas, experiences good or bad so that we can continue to grow.

I think Ed has some great input for any website that wants to keep its members informed. the challenge is for the site to grow and grab interest and that is what dealerelite is trying to do with the polls...then the people here are obviously going to promote their agendas...that is why a wide open site goes horizontal and alllows people to go where they want to go.

Im glad I saw someone else post what I was thinking...everytime Twitter updates it slows down my computer and all my interface/ADP. DealerElite might lose some people if it doesn't fix that. Plus it froze this computer twice today. Thanks

IF YOU DON'T THINK ATTITUDE IS IMPORTANT LOOK AT THIS!

My suggestion is to limit the emails to members to items that they might actually be interested in.

I do not care about the current poll regarding industry trainers and do not appreciate being asked repeatedly to vote in said poll. I also don't (and this may sound crass) much care if it is someone'e birthday or aniversary. I don't care if there is a job available hawking some new lead product or a position open across the country - keep those items in the "Careers" section and out of the general discussion.

I join these types of groups to gain perspective on the issues confronting our industry...or as the slogan says - "Collaborate with the Best and Brightest".

If I want to be your friend or "follow you" I will find your page on FaceBook...not drown you in useless "chatter" in an industry specific group.

Not trying to offend anyone, but I seriously logged in today to unsubscribe from this group. I value the legitimate contributions of the members and simply desire to keep things "on topic".

Respectfully,

Edward Shaffer

Is there a way to stop the DealerElite Twitter post monitor from constantly scrolling? I cant see how anyone can focus and not be dizzied by it? Is there a pause button? Thanks

If you have too many leads coming in, this might be a case of having an internet department. Although good when this Digital thing started it is outdated now. Change your process to include the entire dealership staff. Look at it this way... Do you only allow part of your staff to use the phone? http://www.viralmarketplace.com

FYI, dE has been watching this page and acted on some of your suggestions.

You should have the ability to minimize or move the chat screen to the left or right so you can see other things while on the chat page. I had the chat pulled up with the list of names, and actually found a dealer friend I had done business with. A black screen poped up in the back, but I couldn't get out of the chat screen or even click the back screen and have it switch places with the chat screen. I had to close out of chat completely, which also made the black screen (possibly video?) dissappear as well. I still have no idea what popped up.

I would suggest that we need a discussion about the new finance reform bill as well as the Brownback Amendment.. People need to let their voices be heard before the entire F&I portion of Dealership Operations gets decided by our Government. This new bill will cost dealers millions of dollars in revenue if it passes, not to mention the tax losses by Communities, Cities and States.
