We are a very successful Honda dealer in West Chester, PA and I have 10 years of internet sales experience. I have been on the front line managing leads and closing deals since Feb 2000. I love selling used cars, however, new cars sales are our half of our "pie". Prefering the least amount of work for the highest return is just common sense. Unfortunatley, new car buyers right now are making this process much more work than it needs to be. Putting together a "great" deal is the easiest part of our job, closing the deal and getting commitment is our challenge. There was a time not too long ago when the public would allow us to walk through a sales process and build rapport/trust and value. Now our window of opportunity to do this is very narrow. Our job is not getting easier with the changes in society and technology. I text my my own mother instead of call most of the time. Someday Azimo will do our job?...Ha ha ha

I find it interesting that out of 179 members of this forum, Honda dealers seem to be a overwhelming majority. One would think this is good, but I remember when I had a real advantage over the others. Honda dealers are all doing a pretty good job nowadays. If everyone receives a perfect Response Logic price quote email with 3 prices and a used car option within 10 minutes, who is "standing out" to be different. Ask yourself, how do I stand apart from the pack", what is my advantage. If the lowest price in the market does not always pay the electric bill, how do you compete? I think things are coming full circle and the sales basics must start coming back to our "Internet Sales" environment. Lets wake up GM's and dealer owners, there are no more "Internet" customers, all customers are internet customers! Would we quote everyone who walked into the front door of the dealership before the drive? Lets cut the third party lead providers and take off the gloves!!!!!!!!!
