When it comes to social media advertising, Facebook reigns supreme with Instagram a close second. These are ideal platforms on which to raise brand awareness, bring customers down funnel and generate leads.

As a marketer, I’ve got my eye on two battles at this Sunday’s Super Bowl. Of course, there’s the action on the field - Super Bowl XLVII, a gladiatorial war waged between mountainous men in an arctic Jersey winter. A clash between Seattle’s young talent and Peyton Manning’s legacy. Many Americans care about this game, and they are called “gamblers.”
But…

Facebook has been trying to crack down on text within images for some time. They made a big deal out of it when they first rolled out Timeline but it was still possible to get by without getting noticed. Today, it's a lot harder.
While I've never been able to fully make sense of the rule, it's their site so we have…

Maybe it's just me, but it seemed like the Super Bowl ads were a little skimpy this year, and not as creative as years past. Less companies participated, and the ones who did seemed to have either put less thought into their commercials, or are possibly reading their audience incorrectly. I didn't feel particularly inspired to try a new product this year, as opposed to being pushed to think about products in a new light in Super Bowls of yore.
This makes me wonder: was this just an…

For better or for worse, Facebook made it easier for people to report or block page posts in September. Since then, the need to tread carefully with posts has increased dramatically; too many reports or blocks can hurt a page's performance dramatically. This is an important topic that will be covered more in-depth in a future…

The beta version of Google Comparison Ads for Autos (which is unofficially being referred to as “Google Cars” within the industry) was launched to very little fanfare a few weeks ago in the San…

While (I hope) most dealership websites won’t be affected by this, Google has recently announced they will begin penalizing websites that have too many ads at the top. It's being called the "page layout algorithm" and affects sites that "don't have much content 'above-the-fold'", according to Google's Inside Search blog.
We've all clicked onto a site only to have to scroll down through the ads to actually find the content we are looking for. This algorithm change will…

Social Media Index for Dealerships
A great Social Media Campaign for Automotive Dealers requires a bunch of essential components. There’s more to a Social Media Campaign than to have your dealership’s profile created on a billion networking sites. After reviewing a bunch of Social Media Index results for dealerships across the country I’m starting to see what separates great Social Media Campaigns from mediocre ones.
Car…
