Are Manufacturers Going to Self-Regulate Sales of Recalled Vehicles?

If you’re a dealer, no doubt you’ve heard all the buzz concerning recent legislation and regulations about vehicle safety and recalls. Consumers are scared and politicians are responding. Family fears Mac Haik shooting suspect could bond out

SPRING -- As a boy, Rob Kuentz looked up to his dad. He even dressed like him and dreamed of one day working at a car dealership.

“I have pictures of him everywhere he went,” said his mother, Sandy Kuentz. “He had to have that tie on because he was going to sell cars.”

By 30, Kuentz was a supervisor at a Mac Haik dealership. He married his high school sweetheart, Heather, and had…

Dealers Keeping $7,500 Tax Credit for the Volt?

Apparently, some  dealers are keeping the $7,500 tax credit provided by the federal government for buying a new Volt. The practice is creating a little bit of heartache for GM.

I say, apparently, because of a report earlier this week in the National Legal and Policy Center seems to indicate it might be happening.

In a New York Times blog…

To Contact until they Buy or Die? That is the Question..

When you first get that customer’s information and they are unable to make a commitment at that time what is a realistic timeframe to keep trying to contact that customer. Most ”experts” will say 120-180 days, but in today’s faster moving decision process for the customer do you really think they are still in the market?
