Video Games: Using Employee Interests To Train

Despite the many tools available and the best of intentions, many dealerships struggle with providing ongoing professional development for their staff. Whether it’s because of the volume of customers that need handling; lack of time; or worry about taking a technician or salesperson out of commission – even for a short period of time – training presents many challenges to…

Why Some Late Model Dodge/Chrysler Vehicles Are Prone To Catastrophic Engine Failure

Many car owners and enthusiasts are finding that late and popular Dodge/Chrysler models, such as the Durango, Dakota, Ram, Charger, Chrysler 300, Jeep Grand Cherokee & Jeep Liberty - are having premature and severe (V6 3.7, V8 4.7 and 5.7) engine troubles. And what can they do about it? Nothing. That’s because the original 3-year warranties have expired, and bewildered car owners feel that they have nowhere to go.

These normal drivers, who otherwise love their cars, are left with…

Who Wants A Truck? Jimmy Fallon Does!

Last week, the newly appointed host of “The Tonight Show” mentioned on the air that he was in the market for a new truck. Of course, manufacturers couldn’t resist the golden opportunity to try and convince the star to choose theirs.

Ford responded first urging Jimmy to check out the 2015 F-150, within minutes of his proclamation.

How Babylon 5 can help you drive

As a salesperson, there are a thousand different theories on how to talk with your customers to help them find the right vehicle. Entire books have been written on the subject, but the overwhelming majority say that the most important task is to know your customer. And the best advice I’ve heard on this task–learning about people I’ve met for the first time–comes from the classic sci-fi series Babylon 5. Confused yet?…

The Industry Made Car Salespeople but we need to change with the times too.....

Hello Fellow Dealer Elite members and friends.

It has been a while since I have had the time to put together a blog post of Dealer Elite because it has been a very busy year so far and to be honest I have not had the time. I took a look at the Auto News program today and to be honest was very surprised to see that companies from Chrysler Dodge Jeep Fiat customers are reaching the CEO of the company.

I must say I was also very happy that…

Accountability and real measurable growth is crucial to the success of any dealership or business,

Good morning Dealer Elite,

As I travel around North America I see a lot of dealerships have issues that prevent growth. The one that surprises me the most is how inaccurate the information they currently have about their business. If other retailers were in te same boat they would be out of business.

Here are a few of the problems I see all the time and how dealership owners and management can solve them.

One: Measure everything that happens at your dealership… Continue

Grand Theft Auto – How Citizens Fought for the American Dream

May 14 and 15, 2009 – two days in which Chrysler and General Motors, with the help of the government, literally stole the life’s work from nearly 2,000 business owners.

Two years later, the history from the dealers’ perspective of those days are hitting the bookstores. And they are must reads for anyone associated with the automotive retail industry.

The first book out this…

Correct me if i'm wrong! (Payment Close)

I have trained this for years to salespeople new in the business as well as veterans and it is a great tool to bypass objections and help when a Manager or fellow salesperson takes a tun on a customer. Now before we go to far, this also is a way to make sure your process is streamlined and you don't have a rogue salesperson on you hands...you know the guy the manager asks " did you ask them about money down?" oh yeah boss they said no money down" then you go in and say we need $3000.00 down…

To Contact until they Buy or Die? That is the Question..

When you first get that customer’s information and they are unable to make a commitment at that time what is a realistic timeframe to keep trying to contact that customer. Most ”experts” will say 120-180 days, but in today’s faster moving decision process for the customer do you really think they are still in the market? I would have to say “No”, please keep in mind that this is my opinion. The first 1-24 hours is the most important. If you can respond to someone as they are…
