Ali Reda Broke Another Record?

Can you imagine if your best month was 167?

How about if you sold 1,582 units in one year?

At the end of 2017, we were all shocked by his numbers and in awe of Ali’s humble heart. He began every interview with thanks for all the people who shared in his victory, always insisting that he was no better than…

Pick a Number! Live It Every Day, Every Deal by Richard Keeney

Pick a number and live it every day, with every deal. The target could be a volume number, gross number or both. Sure, you will have other targets such as CSI or occasional targets set by the manufacturer for incentive purposes, but I’m talking about a number that simplifies your expectations and your agreement with all…

It's Friday. What's Your Weekend Looking Like?

If you're in auto sales, the term "TGIF" - Thank God It's Friday! - probably has little meaning to you. In this industry, Fridays are spent gearing up for the weekend. Speaking of which, do you know what your weekend is looking like?

To answer this all-important question, it's a good idea for General Sales Managers to sit down on Friday morning and review a…

It's Wednesday. How's Your Week Going?

In auto dealerships when managers hear the question "How's your week going?" they know it's not always a personal question. Someone--usually the General Manager--wants to know whether they're on track to hit goals.

The most reliable source to find out how it's going is to drill down into Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). We all know the usual; gross profit,…

Service Departments Need Tune-Ups Too

The service department tends to be the busiest place in a dealership, and service managers must stay in tune with what’s going on. While meetings and discussions can be useful, at times they only result in vague ideas the service staff never acts upon. Just like in any organization, a service department is only as good as its leader. Sometimes, you have to get in the…

FOCUS ON IT AND MAKE IT COMPELLING

Motivation is a psychological feature that induces an organism to act towards a desired goal and elicits, controls, and sustains certain goal-directed behaviors. It can be considered a driving force; a psychological one that compels or reinforces an action toward a desired goal. For example, hunger is a motivation that elicits a desire to eat. Motivation is the purpose or psychological cause of an action.…

Don’t Be Intimidated by Customer Loyalty

Many dealers are intimidated by the concept of “customer loyalty.” The simple attempt at trying to design and implement a strategy that creates lifetime customers is certainly a daunting one. It takes a lot of work and effort to accomplish this, for sure. However, just like you train your sales advisors in the steps of the sale and the importance of following each step in…

Treat Your Strengths As A Weakness

Why do we alienate what we have and covet what we don’t? We’re quick to ignore what is in our search for what else in life-always longing for the shiny balls of strengths that everyone else seem to possess-ignorant of our own. You have strengths that you do not fully utilize, why?  Because your…

Slaying the 7-headed Dragon of Time Killers

8760 – That’s how many hours we each get during a year. 24 hours every day for 365 days. And yet, despite the fact that we each get the same amount of time, some people accomplish far more than others. Why is that?

If you’ve read any of my previous articles, you’ll know that I believe it is because we have lost focus on the “Forgotten Foundation” of time management.…

4 Excuses For Not Setting Written Goals

A study of Harvard MBA candidates found that 3% had clear written goals and plans for accomplishing them, 13% had goals but had not put them down in writing and 84% had no goals when they were first entering the program. Ten year later the same students were re-interviewed. The 13% that had goals were making twice as much as the 84% with no goals but, even more astounding, the 3% who had committed their goals to writing were making 10x as much as the other 97% combined.

And…
