Stan Sher of Dealer eTraining discusses the challenges that dealership's with massive management turnover have.  There are dealerships that continue to look for magic to happen and all they end up with is disappointment.  It is always the internet manager that gets all of the blame and they are the first manager to get let go.  Dealerships that go through multiple managers in a single position in a two year period need to stop blaming who they hire and look at their own shortcomings.  An owner of a dealership needs to know what goes on in the dealership way past how many cars are being sold and how much money they are making.  If a GM or GSM is stealing from them they need to know that and address their issue.  If the internet manager is doing all they can to make the store better but the GSM or GM do not support them, they need to know that so that they can set their own guidelines as the owner of the dealership.  Create an understanding and a process for how to run your store.  Stop burning through people and ruining your store's reputation.  Dealerships that experience this problem need to contact Dealer eTraining for a professional third party assessment and action plan of how to improve the quality of the dealership culture so that the dealership starts to move to the next level.

Very well said.  Very true too.

The fact that so many people start their shopping experience on the internet makes the internet manager a target of opportunity whenever someone higher up the food chain doesn't like results. Having talented, hard working internet managers constantly fearing for their jobs reduces productivity for the entire department over time.

How True. This is exactly what happened to myself in my previous location. My departments sold numbers doubled. I was the first Manager to be let go, then the GSM and GM were let go a month later.
