What did you think of "Turnaround King"?

Since we are in the automotive business, it makes sense to take a look at Grant Cardone's new show, Turnaround King. In case you missed it, Grant and his team entered Gold's Gym in NJ and Straub Buick GMC in his first two episodes.

What everyone is talking about is seeing Straub Buick GMC come from tough times to prosperous times. We're all in the business here on dE and know it's not easy to make it in this business. We've seen so many ups and downs in the last 5-8 years that forces a lot of dealers out of business, sometimes unfairly.

As the largest automotive social network in the world, with only the best and brightest minds of the auto industry, let's discuss the show and look at ourselves in the mirror....

  • What did you learn from the show?
  • What will you do differently in your store?
  • How can we support Straub Buick GMC and other struggling dealers within the dE network?

Well done Grant...it is amazing how easy a professional like yourself can make it look!  You definitely turned those non-believers, with scowls on there faces, into believer with the biggest smiles.  You certainly made a difference in that families life, and I am sure the life of many who watched. Kudos to you. Great Karma!!

This is what I thought of the show: Review of the Turnaround King

I would of like to seen some of Grants 150 closes used to sell cars or see someone actually close a deal. Or some of his advertising to dominate the market. A lot of dealers use the cell phone to send picks and videos. Was hoping to see something new.                                                                                                                   A dealer that sends out 8000 mailers should sell more cars without any outside help at all. How ever I think Grant got them back to some basics. What I think Grant did best is sell Grant. And he is a master at it.

Thanks for all the great comments. Appreciate your support and opinions of the show. It's so easy to be critical of things like this. I thought bipoth companies were brave to show themselves and willing on camera to do so. There was NO special editing...it was what it was and was part of my agreement as exec co- producer

I thought  t he Turnaround King was an excellent show. Grant displayed all his expertise  to syngergize a store  that was sound asleep and was witing to close up. he went in there and fixed their attiudes and showed them a real sales process and made the owner accountable   and caused a vision of successs

Yes, in more recent times many dealers are out of business, no fault of their own.

In this case the dealer needed change, and the business is salvageable.

I think it's outstanding that one of our own in the Automotive industry took the initiative  to sell Nat Geo on creating a positive reality T.V. show that demonstrates to America not only is there hope, but solution to a failing business and or economy.

Grant pulled of the big picture, and I know there will be more to come. I love it!~

We've got to get Grant on a cable chanel that everyone can see him.  I did not see the show because I do not have the cable package that gives you 750,000 chanels I only have 150,000 chanels and I only watch 63 of them.  We need to get him on like A&E or Bravo or Discovery or Disney.

I think Grant is Great and would watch the show and even pay for it on OnDemand.

I've worked in failing dealerships and currently work for a very prosperous dealer. And I have to say, it all comes down to 3 things: PROCESS | ACCOUNTABILITY | ATTITUDE. It's so easy to lose sight of these, but necessary. I give credit to the Straub brothers for exposing themselves on national TV to dealers across the country and being the example that even dealers who may have lost their way can still succeed and be profitable. Great job Grant, and the Straubs!
