True Cars and the factory whats the difference

After hearing all the hoopla over true cars Ive seen nothing from a dealer, writer, or a contributor on why they dont warn about the factory as they are about TRUE CARS. First in my opinion would you give anyone or any company access to your DMS system allowing them to have access to your customer data???? Most dealers service departments are gold mines for sales and there best inventory of customers are there best service customers. Thats because in most cases 50-75% of there service customers have older 75000-100000 miles cars. And no one other then the dealer has the address and emails of those customers UNLESS you allow the factory and/or TRUE CARS or others access to your DMS system. So whats the difference between the FACTORY and TRUE CARS? Nothing there both the same. You allowed them to steal your data to harvest your most important commodity, your customers that they had no info on. Now as far as the Factory is concerned BEWARE. As your DMS systems get more intellegent the FACTORY will now be able to do a warranty audit on you from there headquarters. Thats right. They will be able to see what the tech inputed to warranty a repair. But as techs do occasionally they dont have the right data. So whats your warranty clerk do? Yep, you guessed, he or your service manager go back in and change the wording on the RO to the proper  wording and clock time to be within guidelines for warranty. Now if you have allowed the factory access to the DMS they can sit at there offices at corporate and see what you did. Here comes the audit welcome wagon and the factory, thanks to you already know which RO's to pull. And as we all know they just dont pull a few. The advice I would give to any dealer is this. DONT allow the factory or any company that would profit by the use of your data in your DMS system. ALWAYS review with your office manager the passwords that are being used in your DMS. If you dont recognize them delete them. Dont worry about who they may be because if they should be allowed in, they'll be calling you. If they shouldnt have you wont hear from them and they'll be back trying to sneak back in.
