Henry, our apologies. We changed the video from CNN to a more formal interview.

Well I watched the video and you have to give credit where credit is due. Well qualified individual does not matter to me that much that she is a woman. Loved her statement about empowering the employee's. That is where all business growth finally comes from. I know plenty of GM reps that are still wondering what's going to happen! Now get back to making GM dealers their "partners" and focusing on the end user profitability 'us" sales will grow. Not hard to take a look at what Chrysler is doing with their dealers and see the growth associated there. Most dealers will invest back into their business when there's additional dollars coming their way. I often wonder what knucklehead determines the margins on subcompact and compact vehicles. You know it's no surprise that salespeople "our front line" also enjoy eating!

I'm cautiously optimistic.  If GM can continue to build quality vehicles they are in good shape.  It seems like that has been her forte so far.  I expect she will draw many female consumer to consider GM.  In that regard I think the choice is genius.  I presume she will have to employ "the big stick" management style in the beginning, although she has certainly proven she knows how to manage....  at least, so far.

IMHO Whitacre and Ackerson were severely flawed.  They seemed to think dealers work for the OEM.  There are many fences to be mended with dealers.  There is little trust remaining and there are gaping holes left by the terminations and dealer BKs.

Cadillac coverage nationally is a joke in terms of dealer coverage.  With an impressive set of products the brand will never achieve its potential without straightening this out.

We'll see if she understands that GM's customer are their dealers and the end use is the customer of the dealers.

I hope Fritz is close by for consulting purposes.  He was flat "scapegoated."
