Being a Winner often involves taking chances and occasionally means stepping out where others are not willing to go.  Yet, central to your attitude in life, is a belief in one’s self.  Winners have confidence and believe they have as much right to succeed as anyone else.  They don’t look for it to be handed to them for free, but they do expect to achieve what they set out to do and they go forth with confidence that they will succeed and reach their goals. 

Losers don’t believe in themselves and often lack the capacity to hang in there when they have obstacles in their way.  If things don’t happen quickly, they may turn back and settle for the status quo rather than press through to achieve victory.  It’s not that they don’t want to win, but they’re not used to winning so are more likely to see resistance as a reason to quit rather than as something to overcome.

To a winner the challenge is what drives them.  Winners love to prove the naysayers wrong and show them that they can when others say they can’t. They expect resistance so they plan for it.  That is why so much of our car sales training and Dealership training courses are focused on overcoming obstacles and objections, and on lowering the Customers defenses.  We know that our students will be faced with these things in the course of their daily business so we teach them how to overcome them in order to win the Customers confidence and earn their business. 

Winners don’t mind the fact that they are different from the rest.  They are too focused on what they want to achieve to worry about fitting in.  They work with a team, but they are always going to think outside of the box when it comes to finding ways to accomplish their goals.

Every Dealership should invest in educating their people for greater success.  That means taking a chance and providing them with training as often as possible if they want to learn more.  Give them opportunities to advance their skills if they are driven to do that.  If you have a Winner on your team who wants to be the best they can be, get behind them.  Don’t forget, in a commission based sales job, the more the Salespeople make the more the Dealership makes.  The better your team is the higher your profits will become.

For those who want to become Winners and achieve great success, don’t let anything stop you.  Don’t wait for permission to succeed, go out and grab the brass ring and hang on.  Make the commitment and stay the course.  It will be well worth it when all is said and done.  I assure you.  Set your sights on the prize and become the best you can be.  And keep at it!  Your day will surely come.
