We are developing a sales process for Truecar customers and thought we'd share it with the community.

  • On arrival customers with Truecar quotes will be sat down and asked to wait while a $10 hour car jockey brings the car down to show.  No food or beverages will be offered. (It's all about price)
  • The customer will be shown to the car, a walkaround or test drive will be offered for $30/hour.  Optional insurance will be offered with full disclaimer they are responsible for damage while they are demoing the vehicle.  They can choose to to prepay gas or bring it back full.
  • Questions will be answered at $30/ hour.  Requests to show, discuss or answer questions about additional Makes or models are not a part of the deal and are also charged at $30/ hour.
  • Trade in’s will be taken in at straight fair book value plus a $500 trade fee.
  • Carfax must be presented with the trade.  Accident indicators will affect trade value.
  • Trade must have clear title.  (Customer must handle payoff PRIOR to trade)
  • Finance and warranties will be offered on a menu basis, no need analysis will be offered. Credit reports can be run for $30 each.
  • Customers are responsible for their own Motor Vehicle, Sales tax submission, Inspections, Vehicle clean and detail.
  • At delivery a certified check or cash will be accepted and keys will be given to customer.  Vehicle introduction, personalization setting, vehicle familiarization and owners manual familiarization will be provided at an hourly fee.
  • Online garage/ service reminders/ discounts can be purchased seperately.
  • No loaners are available to these customers, rentals can be obtained at local agencies.
  • No coffee, soft drinks, popcorn, will be offered to these customers at service.
  • Any repair out of warranty is ineligible for “good will”.
  • Serviced vehicles will not be washed, except on a fee for service basis.

From a more positive approach....Let's start a business called TruePro ... We can advertise everything a Sales Professional offers (without calling it a sales person) and I am certain it will be a rather attractive package which would appeal to the buyers. 

TruePro does all the research for you!  TruePro knows the manufacturer's products, will get you the most for your trade, will provide you information regarding all the factory rebates and incenitive which you qualify for, will provide you with the best finance source, will get your automobile in showroom floor condition, will fill the tank with gas, will drive to your house to pick you up if you need a ride, will always offer you refreshments and a workstation while you wait...etc!!!! All for  FREE!!!!!!

I would only add the disclaimer:
"This process is intended to be humorous and not actually to be practised. It is a tongue in cheek reaction to the heavy handed and self serving agendas of ZAG, the parent company of TrueCar."
Otherwise TrueCar will simply copy it and paste it on their site as proof that car dealers are bad, bad people and they indeed are the protectors of consumers. :)

Awesome!  Don't forget to change our phone number on Tru-Car from a toll free 800 number to a pay per minute 900 number.  We accept all major credit cards and paypal for live chat, too.

Here is what I think the delivery process would be like. “Thank you, here is your key Mr. Customer. We have additional keys available in the parts boutique for $750.”

“I’d like to go over all of your delivery options at this time. We have three different delivery options available for you.”

Basic Delivery: We will give you a cursory overview of the new car, explaining how to use the three features of your choice. That is only $295.

Bronze Delivery: We will go over all of the features on the new vehicle including showing you to operate the Navigation system for only $495.

Platinum Delivery: Includes everything in the Basic and Bronze package, plus we will set up your Bluetooth, Completely detail the car and fill the tank with gas. for only $795

“Which one works best for you today folks?”
