Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Jack Welch and Mary Barra weren't born with natural abilities to be great.  They all built their skills, drive, and ambition on a foundation of a nurturing environment and had good mentors along the way.  We all know stories of that employee who was the "diamond in the rough"  and went on to achieve success.  Having some innate abilities is always a good thing, but the books we read and the people we meet will often shape our lives to a much greater degree.

If there were more mentors in the dealership we would have a totally different industry today.

 I believe that in order to be successful in the auto industry we need to have some innate natural talent and to be students of our craft. We as human beings have the capability to learn anything. Without focus, persistence and passion for what we have been taught, the lessons are futile.

That is so true. I can't tell you how many times I have interviewed someone who I thought would be a "slam dunk", who lasted less than a month and the questionable ones go on to a great career. One of the real values that AutoMax brings to the table is the classroom training. this allows us and the dealer to see these applicants in a variety of situations. Personality tests are important, but what is not measured is the "guts" to approach everyone, and the "heart" not take rejection personally.

I think we were born to be built. Meaning we are born to learn, but I think when we start learning and growing, our natural talents take shape, which make us better qualified for certain jobs.  I think we can all learn to do anything, it is what we are passionate about that make us better.

Employees can make or break your dealership. Our only job is to make sure they make your dealership successful.
