Well said and great delivery! If we could just get more people to realize the best way to increase sales and profits is by developing their people. Using positive reinforcement and not criticism, belittling mistakes instead of being critical, and understand the sales person is going to perform only as good as their self image dictates will benefit everyone from customers, managers, and dealer principles.

Spot on. Customers pick up on the 'message' a salesperson communicates to them before, during and even after that salesperson has opened their mouth. The belief and attitude that you - the salesperson - can make a positive difference with every customer is a visible, tangible and valuable tool.

There are two sayings I shared when speaking with new salespeople:
1) "A customer's perception is your reality - make it the best, invite them to into our dealership/home, and listen to them with your eyes as well as your ears".
2) "A customer can hear you smile when you are on the phone...and smiles are contagious. If a customer smiles with you then they will want to do business with you and the best salespeople know customers 'buy' the salesperson before they will buy the product or service."
