Really, nobody has thoughts on this subject?

I would say a $3000 Draw & 10% of revenue generated ( I am in sales so I don't know service pay but i know they touch more clients than sales)

Thank you, Sally, for your curiosity about Service Manager compensation, but after reading your bio, you surely know more about this than most will.  If I was in a situation where I had to arrive at a Serv. Mgr. pay plan, there's enough info about it thru various "educated" sources I definitely wouldn't ask a bunch of "unknown credentials" DE members.  But, I'd bet big money the members that do know would have numbers about the same as those "educated sources."

When your moving beyond the basic pay program and you move into the area where the Service Manager is a "known commodity", then you best get creative.  In general, though, you'd be better off paying more for a good manager, especially if you can dangle a "trial period" income until you have some performance to evaluate.  After all, you want to keep a genuine "doer" on board.

And Sally, when you arrive at some hard numbers, and just in the last couple of weeks Automotive News referenced medium Service Manager compensation in an article about Finance Manager pay, I think your results would make an informative blog.  Good luck, as I personally couldn't think of a more tedious challenge.

Thank you for your input.  I do have a lot of thoughts as I use to be a manager but was hoping for some fresh ideas as to what is being offered and what is the most motivating.  I will be happy to share any original ideas that I find in my research but I never discount DE member opinions. We have a lot of credible professionals with tons of knowledge and experience to share here at DE.
