Over the past few weeks I’ve been on the road pretty much non-stop. A few of the first time dealers I’ve recently trained are: Panama City Toyota, Stokes Mazda, Kia Country, Courtesy Chevrolet and Superior Chevrolet. One of the great things that has come out of our “Personality Selling Seminar” at the dealerships is they…

Awhile ago, when I was with HomeNet Automotive, I wanted a demo video of a live video walk-around for myself as I was 1) playing with a new camera and 2) trying out some new features within HomeNet's software.
I enlisted the help of a training and sales manager at a Ford dealership near where I live (and one I happened to be visiting that day) to do a quick one for me. I uploaded it and used it a couple of times but then…

The vast majority of dissatisfied customers who threaten to call an attorney never do. For the few that follow through, the results can be devastating. While it’s true that many customers’ complaints have little or no merit, there can be a real danger if the wrong plaintiff’s attorney gets involved.
You may be thinking “we have lawyers of our own and insurance for that sort of thing, so bring it on”. Well, here’s the problem: many lawsuits that stem from seemingly…

Diligence. That’s it. There is no skill required, no tool necessary, no special knowledge to get you leads through social media. If you are diligent, you will succeed. Of course, there are tools, techniques, skills, and special knowledge that can make it a whole lot easier and more successful. Even with these, you still need diligence.
The tools are out there.…

In my short time being active in the automotive marketing community, my passion has always been focused on dealer education.
I have been blessed traveling around the country meeting dealers at conferences and 20 Groups. From my travels it is clear that dealers and managers are hungry for education and winning…

Hey folks! I have been in the automotive service industry for about 17 years, both as a tech and most recently as a service writer. I was a writer for about ten years. I enjoyed what I did, and was rather successful at what I did. After a while, I got "worn out" because I realized that at the service desk, I was in the hot seat all day long. After a lifestyle change last year, I felt I was ready for a career change. I second guessed myself, feeling that a career change at 36 years old was a…

I wanted to get some feedback and opinions regarding education and the role that it plays with the quality of positive people that we have in the sales industry. I am really happy to see how Brian Pasch is utilizing the importance of education and implementing this for us in the auto industry. Much respect to you Brian!
I am not sure if this is only my own personal experience or if my thoughts are correct regarding the lack of motivational influences during our college and education…

I am in favor of all new technology, I think email is a great way to communicate, texting is super, facebook is awesome but for most dealerships today the Phone is still the # 1 way to sell cars today. I am seeing more and more salespeople or internet managers allowing themselves to fall into the trap of too much electronic communication and not enough phone calling.
I was so happy when i got my first sales job at a Toyota dealership in Louisiana. The sales floor was closed to any new…

I kind of fell into the automotive business. A friend of a friend had a position open in a BDC of a car dealer selling Suzuki and Isuzu. I left a collection agency where I was selling the idea of paying a bill to go to the automotive business where I was selling the idea of making and keeping an appointment to meet with a salesperson.
I started at the bottom, making phone calls to leads, setting appointments, tracking shows and sales. Then, we brought on a consultant who…

Even if you have "decided" not to actively participate in social media, customers still will talk about your dealership through social media, it’s really not a choice. Either you can fill the vacuum with your perspective, or your customers and competitors will fill it for you. The choice is clear.
Monitoring helps with branding and marketing and can help identify quality control or customer care problems that may have gone unnoticed.
Monitoring is only one piece of the…
