Things you need to know before you buy Mahindra XUV300

A lot of people fall for the bigger, stronger and more masculine look in the cars. However, this would mean additional passengers seats or extra cargo space, which might not be the requirement. This is how the automakers came up with more compact cars that were everything like an SUV but in a much compact hood. With a seat for fivepeople, the new Mahindra XUV300 is already garnering attention among the Indian crowds. It is very similar to the XUV500, which can seat 7 or 8 people. But the XUV300 is small, seats 5 and is available in both the fuel options.

The XUV300 gets design cues from its brother - XUV500 and its cousin - SsangYong Tivoli

Mahindra XUV300 is very similar to its sibling, the Mahindra XUV500. The car is said to have a cheetah-inspired design, which imparts the squared-off bonnet to the car. It even gets the chrome-finished grille from Mahindra and the LED daytime running lamps. The XUV300 was introduced previously as S201 and is based on the platform from SsangYong Tivoli. The vehicle gets the same flared wheel arches, but the taillights are inspired by European design. These design inputs impart a classy touch to the car. The car comes in 4 different colour options - Sunburst Orange, Red Rage, Napoli Black and Pearl White.

The dual-tone interiors impart a classy touch

Mahindra XUV300 has a dual tone interior with a glossy finish, suiting to everybody's taste. The combination of black and the whitish grey offers a luxurious look to the car. The controls and the infotainment system are quite cool. The upright, high seating position providesa better view of the road. The seating arrangement and the car are quite spacious. Also, the vehicledid not skimp on any storage spaces. All the necessary luggage can be carried with ease.

Features of this beast of a car

The 5-seater SUV from Mahindra will offer an integrated touchscreen infotainment system. The standard safety features on all the variants include rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all four wheels, dual airbags and ABS with EBD. The car even has to offer some segment-first features. Rain-sensing wipers, start/stop engine button, cruise control and automatic headlamps, which uses halogen projectors for the low beam. The start-stop feature reduces the emission from the car. The top-spec variant gets a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, front parking sensors and 7 airbags.

The powertrain options for the new Mahindra XUV300

The two powertrain options of Mahindra XUV300 are - 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol. The petrol engine offers a power output of 110ps and 200Nm of torque. The diesel engine is similar to the one present on the Marazzo and gives a power output of 121hp and 300Nm torque. The diesel engine offers very high torque at 1500 rpm. Both the engines are available in 6-speed manual transmission, but automatic variants would be coming soon.

A mileage of about 10 kmpl for the petrol variant and about 14.5 for the diesel seems good enough. The Mahindra XUV300, priced between Rs. 7.99 lakhs to Rs. 11.99 lakhs is exciting Indian customers with its exciting style and amazing features.
