A recent industry trend to avoid the word "sales" raises a question worth asking: what's wrong with being a salesperson?

More and more companies call their representatives "Business Development Consultants", "Account Managers" and other euphemisms, because they feel the term "salesperson" sends the wrong image.

According to some, the word "sales" implies focus on a personal agenda rather than on the customer. Many also feel that the customer just doesn't trust sales people.

If the goal is to provide services or products to a person in exchange for money, what's the difference?

We ask you this question:

What have you done this week to improve the reputation of the sales profession?
