I am currently working through a study in the book of
Daniel. Using the
Holman Old Testament Commentary Vol 18, I came to the "Principles and Applications" portion for chapter 1 and would like to get your feedback on how you
live like a Daniel in the often unseemly world of the car business.
Read the following and please share your thoughts on applying these to your vocation:
Principles
- God's covenant people often live in an alien environment. (How do you handle this at work?)
- Remnant people are always a minority.
- We never know where God will use us.
- God honors the obedience of his people.
- Believers must obey even when they are tempted to disobey.
Applications
- Christian parents should prepare their children for serving God in any situation.
- Christians must learn to resist evil even when it seems innocent and without major consequences.
- Christians should know when and how to say no.
- Christians need perseverance and and determination to thrive spiritually in a world which wants them to fail.
