"Marie" Tale of a BMW customer who turned out to be an Angel on Earth~

.
About 10 years ago, an approximately 60 year old well-kept woman named Marie had broken down about 1/2 mile from the dealership in her BMW and walked back to my dealership (Chevrolet) for assistance.  As I walked by the service desk, I overheard the advisor telling her we were extremely busy today and we do not typically work on BMW's and then asked her if she had AAA.... I interrupted the conversation, asked the woman to come and sit in my office, got her a cool lemonade out of the refrigerator and then headed back out to service.
I asked the Service Manager to at least take a quick look at her car to see if we could help her.

After speaking with the woman, I found she was from Boston, (about 40 miles North) and was passing through on business. We exchanged casual conversation; she owned a travel agency currently, had been involved in many various businesses in her career and I found her quite astute and interesting.  I expressed to her that my life was so busy as I was involved in many community groups, church groups while juggling a career, family and maintaining a home.  Within 45 minutes her car was ready, (it was a loose wire) and she was on her way.

The next day, I came into work to find a book and a card left on my desk.  The card was from Marie expressing her gratitude for going the extra mile and getting her to her business appointment on time.  She then went on to say the book had been given to her years ago, and she felt that it was meant to be passed on to me.  It was a book of daily passages, psalms and inspirational words.  It was bookmarked on June 23rd which was the current date.  As the date presented itself to me in print, I realized it was the 8th anniversary of my daughter Brooke's death.  I had been so hurried that I had not even taken the time to reflect and meditate on this date and my baby daughter's short life, (she died unexpectedly at 4 months old).  SLOW DOWN... is the message I was immediately stricken with...I went on to read the passage of the day which was a beautiful psalm about calming sorrow and holding hope.  The inspirational saying was regarding evangelizing my faith.  This book is kept by my bedside and I have found meaning in each daily verse for where I am in my life.  I believe that although Marie considered me a Good Samaritan for her that morning. She was an Angel on Earth who has touched my life forever!
