What exactly is a "lead" & why do you need a steady flow of targeted leads?

A Lead is any person interested in your product or service. As a consumer yourself, think about what you are in the market for throughout the year and how one purchase would lead to another. If you are in the market for a new home, then you will probably need a real estate agent and a mortgage professional. That is obvious. However, if you are moving to a new home, you will probably be in the need of an alarm system, maybe a remodeler? How about pest control? Moving company? New Appliance? If your move involves different zip codes, then possibly a new doctor, dentist, chiropractor, cleaners, favorite coffee shop, grocery store. You will be trying new restaurants, and other shopping experiences. You will be trying new restaurants and other shopping experiences. Then if there are problems with your home, you will need a plumber, electrician, roofer... I am sure there are some that I have missed, but you get the point. Those companies would love to be the first ones to be in front of this person. How do you do that?

That question is answered in a simple answer but it is chiseled with almost limitless facets. Hunting... hunting for leads. Unfortunately, what I found is that as you prospect for leads and generate those leads, you are consumed with that process. You get your funnel filled, you start selling, and then close deals. Then what happens? Your funnel is dry, and you start the process all over again.

Develop and maintain a lead wheel. Build your team and work hard to maintain it's presence. There is a lot of front-end work and development but it will pay off in the end. I usually see the best groups at about 15 individuals. Monthly meetings are a must, and have guest speakers quarterly. I usually set up a monthly fee for staying in the group. If you don't have skin in the game, it is hard to get people active. Take the money and use it for having a nice dinner at end of year, run contest for best referrals. Co-marketing campaigns. You can also try setting up a co-marketing email campaign with all of your lead wheels customers and leads. Offer coupons and deals from everyone in lead wheel's businesses. Offer good content with email newsletter.

Any other suggestions, please add to the post on the comments. I would love to hear other's ideas...
