Consumer Review Websites That Allow Your Business To Respond

Consumer love online reviews sites. They give them a chance to share their experience, whether that be a positive or negative one. Unfortunately, the negative reivews may stand out more than the positive. But just because you get a bad one, it does not mean that your business is in trouble. Correctly responding to reviews can be effective way to address the problem and hopefully increase your online reputation. We, at chatmeter, recently wrote a blog (find it here) explaining how you should respond to a negative review. Below, we've done the research and will show you when review sites will let you, as a business, respond to reviews:

  • maps.google.com
    • Sign in to your Google Account. Be sure it is the account that has claimed your business listing.
    • Visit your listing’s Google+ page.
    • Scroll to the reviews section.
    • Click 'Respond' and write a response. Don’t forget our guidelines for responding.
    • Click 'Publish'.
  • local.yahoo.com
    • After signing in, submit your review by clicking the 'Write a review' link in the search results page or clicking on the business you want to review and using the 'Write a review' link under the address and phone number at the top of the businesses' details page.
  • yelp.com
    • Can post a public response by clicking the 'respond' link under the comment
    • Can also send a private message to the reviewer
  • yellowpages.com
    • You can respond to the review in question by clicking on 'respond' underneath the review to provide an explanation to other users.
  • blogsearch.google.com
    • Scroll down to the comment section
    • Click on the 'respond' or 'reply' link
  • facebook.com
    • Log into your business page and click on the 'comment' link
  • twitter.com
    • Log into your business page and click on the 'reply' link
  • foursquare.com
    • You can respond to what someone writes with a tip, although we would not encourage you to do so because the more interaction and activity that a tip receives, the longer it appears on the first page of your business's tips as they are based on popularity
  • citysearch.com
    • Just log in to 'MyAccount' and click on the 'Business Locations' link in the 'Management' section.
    • Select a location and then click on the 'Reviews tab'.
    • In this section you can view all of your user reviews and respond to them
  • insiderpages.com
    • To do this, first, sign in to your account on Insider Pages. Click on the link in the top right hand corner of the site marked 'My Businesses'.
    • From there, click 'View/Update Business Profile'.
    • Near the bottom of the page you will see 'Respond to Reviews'.
    • Click the tab to access the reviews appearing on your business page.
  • tripadvisor.com
    • Go to the Management Center.
    • Under Quick Links, select 'Write a management response' and follow the directions.
  • yellowbook.com
    • Any registered user can respond to a review.
  • urbanspoon.com
    • From the User Reviews area of the 'Owner Dashboard', you will be able to view and respond to comments
  • dealerrater.com
    • The only two parties that may respond to a review are the author of the review and the dealership that is the subject of the review.
  • hotels.com
    • If you would like to submit a response to a guest review, you can do this easily by using 'Expedia Partner Central (EPC)'
  • apartmentratings.com
    • You will then see your Manager Center page, where you will see a list of all of the reviews of your property with an "Add" link next to each of them.
    • Simply select the review by clicking the "Add" link.
    • This link takes you to a page with the review on the left-hand side, and a dialog box on the right where you can write your response.
    • Once you hit the "Update" button, your response will automatically be posted to the site
  • edmunds.com
    • Make a comment addressing a review
  • cars.com
    • Any cars.com dealership that has an Online Ad Package is able to reply to reviews in our MyDealerCenter tool in the "Reviews and Replies" section under the "Reviews" tab
  • merchantcircle.com
    • Login to our Dashboard,
    • Click on ‘Communicate With Customers
    • Click on 'Manage Reviews'

There are many other review websites out there but these are some of the most popular. When responding to reviews, always remember to reply in a professional and respectful manner. Not doing so may make the situation worse. For more information about chatmeter and the review management services we provide or to request a free quote, visit us at www.chatmeter.com.
