Online reputation is part of business practices that are overlooked sometimes. There are various ways to look at it. You have to consider the importance of gaining many positive online reviews. Once you get them, you have to consider hoe to utilize them in your various selling processes in the stores. Your Internet/BDC needs to promote that as a part of selling tool. Your sales people need to gain reviews and promote their reputation in the sales process. The service department needs to do the same. You do not need software. All you need is a proper process. Reputation Management is not a difficult and will be very easy once you establish a process.
You need to be Google Place, Yelp, Merchant Circle, DealerRater, Edmunds.com
You also need to have google alerts setup (free and easy to do).
You need to train your staff on how to solicit for positive reviews and then on how to leverage them. Many companies are doing that including mine. I have done this at my last job as an internet director of a large Nissan dealership that was a brand new store and we dominated our market with some of the things that we have done. Now, as a trainer/consultant that is one of the things that I teach dealers.
Once you get a process going and your store is trained on it, it will be very easy to monitor and control. The benefits are huge.
