The New Steps to the Sale

I know, I know some things never change, Right?! ... WRONG.  I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that are going to disagree with me on what I'm about to disclose – and that's okay; as long as they have put them both to the test like I have.  I have been in the auto industry for just a few months short of 12 years. I have consistently been reading, and scouring the Internet for the best training information I could find to improve my automotive sales career.  I wanted to share with…

A Page so Powerful, I had to Share

I recently read a book called The Go-Giver, authored by Bob Burg and John David Mann. It was an excellent read, but if I was to pick one excerpt to share with you, in hopes that it would inspire you to read it as well; it would've been this one (Taken from page 66 and 67 of The Go-Giver):

Sam's eyes twinkled with warmth.  "The Old Man was right again, as usual. He…

Forward Thinkers LOVE THIS.

Friends and Colleagues,

There was some exciting news shared with me, and I think it is going to have a big impact on our industry in the near future.

Briefly let me explain:  I have been using this system to take care of my automobile clients since October of 2007; and I think it is the perfect tool for a salesperson in the automotive industry to keep track of their clients, send cards to congratulate them on their new purchase (with a photo or…

Sharing with you My Most Powerful Lesson.

NOTE: I was asked earlier this month if I could share something with the 30 colleagues I work with inside of the automotive industry. If you ever wanted to know how to build a solid…

YES! Sales Success is as Easy as 1-2-3.

When it comes to automobile sales training, it's true that there's plenty of good information out there. The problem is, if it's not simple to do, and easy-to-understand; then it will probably not be duplicated or taught very well to the others inside of your dealership. First seven years of my sales career I focused on becoming the best sales person I could by getting my hands on the best information, listening to the best trainers; and practicing, drilling and rehearsing every bit of what…

Getting Control

Getting Control

"It's all about control." I heard this from day one in my automobile sales career. If you have been in the auto industry for any admissible amount of time; I am confident this will resonate with you. It always seemed interesting to me that when the term "control" came up - the most common topic of conversation was this: How far in the process you can "take" your customer.…

Do you Ask for Referrals, or Do you Earn them?

It's not a trick question - I really want to know. Here's why I ask: In every sales training meeting, book, or video I listened to early in my career, they always said the same thing - make sure when the customer leaves the lot you give them a big stack of business cards and ask them to send their friends and family your way. Funny thing is - most of these people were my managers, who I found out became managers because they never were able to develop a book of business the right way. I was one… Continue

"It's Time."

Hope this inspires you and your team: I wrote it for the CIADA Insider Magazine this month, and have gotten a lot of nice emails from people saying it has helped them. Wishing you all the best, Tobias.

"It's Time."

I once asked an old man to say something wise,

and the words that unfolded - were a welcome surprise.

He started by saying, "Tell me, son - What is it you seek?"

"Success in… Continue
