Car technology has advanced rapidly over the past 100 years, from a ‘horseless carriage’ to today’s electric carGoogle is developing and testing a self-driving car; what will be next? What features, gadgets and technology will the cars of 2014 have? What about cars in five years?

It is predicted that by 2018, the majority of vehicles will have internet radio, such as Pandora or Spotify, instead of a typical car stereo. While the public is accustomed to live radio, automakers anticipate the demand for customizable, internet radio stations to become pervasive.

While Google leads the pack with self-driving car tech, Ford is predicting self-driving cars becoming a reality by 2017. Using the Traffic Jam Assist technology, the cars will improve your speed using adaptive cruise control, sensors from its active park assist and lane keep assist. In addition to making your morning commute safer by reducing human error, self-driving cars are also expected to increase fuel efficiency.

What other cool features and technology will cars be boasting in the next five years?
