Sunday's Social Tip: Prepare Your Fan Page for Timeline!

Facebook Fan Pages are changing on March 30th - get prepared!

1. Start with your cover
Your cover photo is the first thing people will see when they visit your Page. The new Fan page resembles the recently launched Personal page “timeline” look.  Choose a unique photo and change it as often as you like. A horizontal image will work best.  Pick a unique photo to feature at the top of your Page timeline.  Note: This space is not meant for promotions, coupons, or advertisements. Your cover photo should not be primarily text-based or infringe on anyone else's copyright. Remember first impressions matter!  You may want to test out an image prior to publishing.

2. Adjust your profile picture
Your profile picture represents your Page on other parts of Facebook, like in news feed.
Use your logo or another image that represents your Page. Choose an image that's square and at least 180 pixels wide.

3. Review your Fan Page information
The new format displays important business information - address, phone number, and business hours.  Verify and update your information.

3. Highlight what's important
Photos, likes and apps are now at the top of your Fan Page. Photos show in the first spot, but you can change the order of everything else so people see what matters most. You can show a maximum number of 12 apps, so make sure to put your most important ones first.

4. Review your Page timeline
Hover over a story and click on the star to make it wider, or on the pencil  to pin it to the top of your Page, hide or delete it entirely.

5.  New Admin panel for Page Administrators allows you to Manage everything in one place

Keep track of your activity on your Page from the admin panel. Respond when people write on your Page timeline, and view your latest insights.
Visit your activity log to review all your posts and activity.

6. Respond privately with messages
Now people can contact you privately using messages. Notifications about new messages will appear right in your admin panel.

Continue your social media journey by embracing the latest rounds of Facebook Fan page changes.  Facebook is demonstrating a shift to allow fan pages an increased interaction with their Fans.  Happy Facebooking!
