Any fellow road warriors have some good advice on what car is best for driving 1,000+ miles/wk

I am an outside sales rep driving over 4,000 miles a month. I currently drive a Mercury Mountaineer which is good for the snow here in MN but bad for the mpg. Keeping in mind comfort, AWD, and decent mpgs what would anyone suggest?

I have 160K on my Audi TT with no major work other than brakes, an alternator and the timing belt/water pump at about 100K. It has great all-wheel drive and handles well in snow (with good snow tires). It still has the original exhaust! I get 33 MPG on the highway and look darn good doing it!
Although, my road warrior-ing is flight to location, then rental car, I do log a fair amount of driving miles, and when I have to contend with snow - I do like the Ford Edge and the Buick Enclave... when snow is not a factor, I prefer the new Malibu.
We have several company cars and the one that fits your needs would be likely similiar to our Toyota Highlander, which has all wheek drive gets about 23 MPG, plenty of room in back for sales materials and has 278,000 miles on it. We also just retired a camry with 380,000 miles on it because of a wreck.
We are in Iowa so we know what you mean about navigating through the winter months in the precarious weather.

hope this helps.
P.S. 6 of our 8 cars in our fleet have ove 150k on them. Go for the nice seats whatever you buy.

Good Luck,

I would recommend a low mile pre-owned Pontiac Vibe AWD, reasonable cost, good gas mileage, admirable cargo space. If you prefer a sedan, Subaru Legacy is popular here in Co.
