I am probably going to offend a few people here & I'm o.k. with this. 2 Paragraphs.???

Sales person / sales rep. : "I will get started as we ring in The New Year". Seriously....really.... In all honesty, you don't have what it takes to impress me. I have never been particularly interested in people that tell me they're the best when they can't prove best business practices themselves. Five points of the sale & ABC's never change, only the approach changes. If you give me the reason or excuse of why business can't be done at any given time, day, or year then you're a loser. You're not real, not a real sales person at heart anyways. Look,,,,I can have any given fancy title at anytime and it still doesn't change who I am, I am a sales professional. That's it, point blank period. I am who I am. I pride myself on who I am and who I help including my chosen industry.

I am not a sales trainer, a seminar pump up or a person that jumps from vendor to vendor. I am a winner and I build the winning members of our industry into bigger winners. I don't write this discussion to be told or said that I need to be a sales trainer and even so, I would turn away from the suggestion anyhow. What I am saying is this. The talent pool is shrinking, especially for the automotive industry. You can either face this fact or stick your head in the ground like an ostrich. Build upon what you can, and cut the one's that can't. That's basic, but when you consider new vendor relations and sales processes, embrace the technology and the training available to help you. There is nothing to be gained by not ensuring that your success is hinged by the person / vendors success.

And lastly...change your attitude. If you're not contributing, then you're depleting. Take a look internally at this & afterwards make the right decision for you and everyone.

I try, every day, to make sure there is enough evidence to "convict" me of being a salesman.  When the evidence isn't there, it's ALWAYS MY FAULT.
Short, simple answer that is very poinient. I like it!
