During my time with the Hendrick Group, I was introduced to DISC training and Predictive Index while with Asbury. I used the latter for years. 

I would be interested in hearing how others used tools like these with regards to hiring sales people;  with experience or none.

Lane, I am DISC certified and have given over a 1000 tests as a corporate trainer for the Maita Group and the Sullivan Group. We used these tests not only to hire, but to promote, build teams, settle disagreements, as well as council. Having your entire staff know the four personalities well, and understand themselves is only the first step. Next share the results so they can understand their peers, and eventually they will begin to understand their customers as well. I also teach four different steps to the sale based on a D, an I, an S. or a C customer and have found sales and CSI to go up dramatically based on these teachings. For the DISC to work... It must come from the top down! I hope this has been of some help Lane... Joe
