I was asked 1000 times back in my General Manager days, how do you do it?   Every store I went to (I did not skip around but rather was a trouble shooter) went the right direction and fast!   The answer was the same every time.   You have to have all the parts clicking at the same time.   You can't drive big traffic if your inventory or your sales staff can not support it.   You can not have a large inventory and great selection if you do not have the traffic to support the "turn".  You Have to have a Selection, a strong and balanced sales staff and strong managers committed to a real and powerful process to keep things orderly, and you must know how to drive buyers to the store.   If a lot of people come on the lot, and are greeted by trained professionals with strong management backing them up and you have the selection that allows "stop shopping" experience.  YOU WILL WIN!!!   

 

Too many managers and owners in my humble opinion get caught up in many things going on in the dealership and it is hard to stay focused on the core principles that make us the "actual" paycheck.   So today, drop all unimportant things you have on your schedule and focus on if you have the 1-2-3 combo.   BIg Traffic!!!   Great sales team and process!!  and the right mix of inventory to compliment the first 2 items.
