With summer here and hot weather with it, what is proper attire for dealership employees? At our dealership our sales, parts , and service are allowed to wear polo style shirt with our company logo but no jeans and no shorts. The first dealer I ever worked for required dress shirt and tie (and they still do). Some other dealers in our area allow shorts and polo shirts. So my question is what is professional attire in todays market? Does it depend on what line you sell? IE: High end luxury cars vs less expensive brands? Opinions?

Thanks Marsh! The football jersey is a great idea. I agree no shorts, even in our hot Texas heat. Maybe jersey and sneaker day Saturdays during football season. I appreciate the input.

Terry, we do both- from May to Oct (still swimming here) my crew wears polo shirts, khaki or dark colored  pants and dark shoes -no tennis shoes, no shorts. In the winter they wear long sleeve shirt and ties- the weekends we let them wear their fav football jersey or they all wear long sleeve polo shirt (sat only). Never shorts or tennis shoes- if I wore shorts my legs would match my white socks :)
