The Biggest Mistakes you can make on Social Media?

Businesses, public figures, and even every day people have made some of these classic blunders more often than you may think. Here are a few of the classic ones to avoid.

Don’t pick fights on Social Media.

Starting a fight on any Social Media sight and not resolving that dispute, complaint or just to put it bluntly pissing people off. This is never a good idea online, and as some politicians have learned recently never a good idea at all.

Selling all the time.

Very few if anyone on Social Media network want to receive sales messages all the time on their feed. It is ok sometime to post links and promotions, but never post Sales messages every time on social media.

A good rule is soft sell sales messages could make up 10% to 20% of your posts.

Not responding to messages on Twitter, Facebook, Linked In and You Tube.

Just like an email from a friend or a customer you need to respond as quickly as possible. Social Media is a two-way conversation and in order to build relationships and customers you need to listen and respond in a timely manner.

Posting to often on any network.

No one wants to seem robotic or fill up his or her feed with posts from one person every day. If you want to post often that’s great but you will need to post at different times of the day and remember fewer posts with great content is better than lots with poor content.

Remember to care, build relationships, listen, and watch what you post. Basically don’t do anything that you will regret in the morning, and remember that after it’s online it may be online for good.

Have a plan, learn from your mistakes and remember “social Media” is the Internet.
