Esquire Magazine writer Cal Fussman recounted a story about a reporter who had the opportunity to travel with the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali in the prime of his career. Running late and nearly sprinting through the airport to get to the gate in time to catch a flight, Ali looked over to see a woman nervously fumbling to find her camera so that she could snap a picture of the champ. Suddenly Ali stopped, waited for her to find her camera, and posed to take several pictures with her.

The reporter was aghast-if they were going to catch the flight, they didn't have a second to spare. If they missed this flight, who knew when the next one was-not to mention there was an entourage of people on the other end of THIS flight who were waiting to receive the most famous boxer in the world.
...and Ali stopped to take a picture.
Post pic and back in a full gallop, the reporter stammered to ask Ali why did he stop to take the picture with the woman. In a cold, steely gaze that only Ali could muster, he slowed and said, "Because that was the only time in that lady's life that she'd ever be able to take a picture with me and I wanted to make sure it was perfect."
In searching for a vehicle, studies show that customers are not driving from city to city nor driving down "car row" visiting multiple dealerships anymore....they're visiting around 1.
So consider yourself fortunate...
IF...a customer pulled up to your dealership and is talking to you right now.
Statistically, this is the one and only time you get to take a picture with your customer...
A picture of professionalism and knowledge...
A picture of genuine concern for their needs...
A picture of empathy-never forgetting the stresses that your customers go through when it comes to making the right choice on one of the biggest decisions they'll ever make...
A picture of devotion not only to helping them today but servicing them for the many tomorrows that lay ahead...
A picture that is so vivid in colored thoughtfulness and rich in experience that they'll forever return because they'll never forget how you made them feel...
This is your 1 photo op...
Take the time to make sure it's perfect...for them.
I'll see you on the Blacktop!
