Every week I read another article predicting how AI will change the dealership workplace.
While there is no doubt that AI can analyze data in seconds, write reports, summarize meetings, answer customer questions, and automate tasks that once consumed hours of our day.
But amid all the excitement about technology, I believe many dealerships are overlooking something even more important.
The greatest competitive advantage won’t simply be AI. It will be leaders who know how to lead their associates by making them feel valued.
While AI will continue to change how we work, great leadership will always determine how people feel while doing the work.
Because here's what AI still can't do:
◻️ It can't inspire confidence.
◻️ It can't coach someone through failure.
◻️ It can't build a culture of trust.
◻️ It can't recognize potential before the employee sees it in
themselves
As leaders, our greatest responsibility isn't to compete with technology.
It's to strengthen the one capability technology can never replace: our ability to connect with, develop, and inspire people.
The dealerships that thrive in the years ahead won't simply be the ones with the smartest technology.
They'll be the ones with the most intentional leaders.
