When I was eCommerce Director for a dealer group, I was also the group trainer. Phone. eMail. Leads.

Logging.

I can't describe the groans I got from the salespeople about logging. "CRM is too hard!". "It gets in the way of my rapport with my customer."

And so on.

Managers work deals. Salespeople work customers. The CRM is there to amplify what they do, not get in the way.

But does a CRM really do that?

I believe it does get in the way, and simplification and moving to mobile is, without a doubt, the direction all CRMs need to be on. Or be already producing.

However, the CRM is really too often THIS: You pay monthly for the largest excuse generator in your dealership.

"It's too hard" becomes no email, no lead responses, and . . . yes . . . no LOGGING.

It's not too hard. CRMs are not too hard. They are too complicated, yes. They are too desktop-bound and not mobile, yes.

So, your better CRM is always going to be the CRM you stop having excuses for not using and USE.

Your best CRM sales amplifier?

A CRM that is simple and mobile. And empty of excuses. And ready to help you sell!
