For womens month..What women in the business have impressed you?

I come from a family of strong women. Once I was out with 3 girls and we were being catty together and the stated I was as bad as they were. In telling the story on Sunday at my Mom's house one of these strong women, my wonderful cousin Tria said "of course you are, we raised you right!". So I have an affinity for strong women.

First I let me mention Delia Passi who has inspired this is one of the woman who has impressed me. We met by phone about a year ago and she has not only become a freind but because of her nature of being willing to share she has become a mentor. It's not like we even speak often, but everytime we do I learn something. Not just about "Winning the toughest customer" but something and always something of value just like Delia. We are not a woman certified company. I am still dealing with the past when we were with other "sell to women" companies that have soured my owners, but i do bring up the Womens Certified program frequently and one day we will be. You should be too.

Second, I would like to talk about Lizelle Landino. Chat expert, but more importantly a how to treat people expert. She first contacted me quite some time ago. In spite of the fact that we have never gotten together on us purchasing one of her products, we are happy with what we have, she still checks in and just is a "Go Giver." She has given me good advice on many of the things I do, not even related to chat, but related to digital marketing in the car business. She is smart and insightful and just a joy. I am sure that someday we will end up doing business, but as any of the vendors I do business will tell you I don't change things very quickly. Lizelle is currently working for CarChat24 so go take a look. Based on how she treats a person who isn't one of her clients, rest assured that no vendor will put you first like Lizelle will. Oh yeah, she's also one of the funniest and witty people I know.

As for a practitioner. Robin Beebe the Director of Marketing for Giant Recreation World in Winter Garden FLA and MyMarketingDept.com is the smartest woman I have met in this business. She is also a joy to be around. Find her on here and the other forums and make sure you pay attention to what she has to say. You will assuredly always learn something.

@AJ: I am so glad to have Lizelle as a friend an peer.  We are both vendors to the automotive industry and find ourselves sharing our experiences and give each other support.  Lizelle is just an amazing person and an extraordinary woman.  Thank you, AJ, for spotlighting one of the industries best and brightest!!!!

@Lizelle:  Congrats on making a difference in all that you do!!!!  You are a Rockstar!!!

There are so many, but I wish to start with Tamara Darvish, VP of DarsCars.  She started CRDR, The Committee to Restore Dealers' Rights and fought hard on the hill to help the few thousand dealerships, (small businesses) and the 169,000 + dealership employees who were innocently losing their careers as a result of the winddown and dealer terminations associated with the Chrysler and GM BK's.

Some intelligent, strong automotive women I met here and on various SM sites are Rebecca Chernek, Juanita Kiesler, Sally Whitesell, Kathi Kruse and Susan Hair to name a few!  It is impossible to name them all, but now there are female trailblazers leading the way in the fields of engineering, design, executives with the manufacturers, etc... We have come a long way, with still a long way to go.. I believe only 5% of all dealer principals are female and women still have not made their place in key management roles and sales at the dealership level.

Ladies..Start your engines!!!!

Aj thank you my friend for your kind words! It was wonderful to read and appreciate your kindness! In fact YOU are a rock star! Stephanie! Thank you for the support and continues effort to be extra ordinary as a person! Wonderful to be around so many great faces and up beat personalities!

Nancy is also one of the great women in this business and I am proud to call her my freind. I did not mean to exclude her. After all Nancy you are one of the few women for whom I stand up ;-)

AJ - you are a gem and thank you for your kind words. You are a championing in my book and and I can only hope that your enthusiasm and appreciation of the female consumer will inspire others in auto to engage in training and programs that will elevate the customer experience for women, and men too. Remember from my book, when you meet the need of women you exceed those of men! The Plus is that we will attract more women to the industry as a result..now that's a win win.

I'm so impressed to read about women who are having great success in this powerful industry. Kuddos to you all and if I'm lucky will have the opportunity to meet one day soon!
