I am just starting as an automotive sales consultant and am looking for insight and helpful tips for success. I understand that the first 90 days are going to be very tough. I am putting together a plan for success to help me through the first 90 days. Any insight and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Been there....Done that....My best advise, start by notifying your friends and family, telling them to pass the word that you are trying to get off the ground running. Everybody knows somebody looking for a vehicle, so you should pick up at least 2 sales from family and friends within 60 days. There is no harm in asking them to "Help you out." by passing out some business cards. Also, never prejudge a person walking the lot. The ones that don't look like they can buy usually will.
get yourself a nice pair of shoes as soon as you can afford them. get some company shirts and make sure they are pressed. come to work a little early and show up on your day off for a couple hours. master a firm handshake and when delivering it look your guest directly in the eyes. learn and remember your guests names and use them often during presentation. if you forget thier names during presentation then re-ask and then remember. when you have a husband and wife or a mom and child, always without exception focus on the lady. gear your entire presentation towards her. this wont come naturally to you or them but you will sell alot more cars by doing so. good shoes, firm grip with eye contact, know their names, focus on her, and lastly BE AGGRESSIVE. it is your commitment to yourself, your family, and your company that you do well.
TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN! You are in a great place right now! What you do in your 1st 90 will dictate your career. Be in a great hurry to learn as much as you can as fast as you can. Act as if you are getting ready for training camp for your favorite team You have 90 days to make the team..... How much effort would you put into it. Use that much plus towards being the best you can at this business

Use all the people you can on here. There are some great people to learn from. Join different groups and read through the blogs Find some sales seminars to go to.If you want to #1 in your dealership all you have to to is outwork #1. " Success does not come easy, are you willing to pay the price" I train new hires into the car business for a living and know many of them who were at the top of their dealership with in their 2nd month.Always shoot for the stars with your goal, and if you hit the moon you will still be doing alright.

Good luck!
A must here Andrew. There are a lot of other great stuff on that site also so try to read All of them.
