Additional Data on Chevy Impala & Consumer Reports

Chevrolet Impala was one of two Chevrolet vehicles (Cruze) to make the Consumer Reports' top-10 list of most recommended new vehicles for 2017. See the story here. I have some additional Chevrolet Impala shopper interest data that may be useful to you, courtesy of Jumpstart Automotive Media.

According to Jumpstart, the Chevrolet Impala was the most cross-shopped non-luxury vehicle across Jumpstart’s portfolio of sites in 2016.

Chevrolet Impala has the most cross-shopping of any non-luxury vehicle with an average of 9.6 vehicles viewed (see chart), 54% higher than the average for all non-luxury vehicles. Only Cadillac Escalade (11.2), Audi A3 (10.9), BMW X1 (10.3) and Porsche Boxster (10.3) shoppers viewed more models, based on a minimum threshold of a half million shoppers. FYI – Toyota Yaris iA (9.9) did not meet the minimum threshold in 2016.

“Chevrolet Impala’s size lends itself well to consumers who are deciding between midsize or large sedans as well as those who are considering moving into an SUV or CUV from a large sedan," said Libby Murad-Patel, Vice President of Strategic Insights and Analytics for Jumpstart. "This, of course, means it could lose consumer interest to other segments but also puts it in a unique position to gain new customers. And the higher shopper interest we’re seeing across our sites could lead to potential sales growth in 2017.”
