                              Bible Believers' Selling -

                               by Roger Williams

I thought this would be appropriate due to the reason for the season!!

Do you want to have a better 2015 than 2014? If you are Christian, this is a must read!

Want to sell more? The big man says it’s all in the words!

30 "Gifts" God told us in Proverbs about the power in our words.

To the outside world us Christians who have chosen sales as a career must seem like a weird bunch.

We Christian sales people struggle with life’s problems just like anyone else. We believe praying to our God in Jesus’ name provides us divine direction. We believe our worries and anxieties can be cast upon our God who takes care of us in these matters.

We believe in tithing, and giving thanks to The Lord in Jesus name for any and all of our success is a key to continued blessings.

I advise Christians and non Christians alike to guard your thoughts, they become your words, and watch your words they become your actions. Because what you say and do is all you are.

Christians believe in the power of our words because The Holy Bible repeatedly educates us on the power of words. A single book in the Bible, The book of Proverbs, gives us these 30 warnings of the power of words.

1-Proverbs 6:2- If you are snared in the words of your mouth, caught in the words of your mouth,

2-Proverbs 10:19- When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.

3-Proverbs 10:20 - The words of the Godly are like sterling silver, the heart of the wicked is worth little.

4-Proverbs 11:12- Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent.

5-Proverbs 12:18- There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

6-Proverbs 12:19- Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

7-Proverbs 12:25- Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.

8-Proverbs 13:3- Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.

9-Proverbs 15:1- A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

10-Proverbs 15:2 -The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly.

11-Proverbs 15:4- A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

12-Proverbs 15:23- To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is.

13-Proverbs 16:23- The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious and adds persuasiveness to his lips.

14-Proverbs 16:24- Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.

15-Proverbs 17:9 -Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.

16-Proverbs 17:27- Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

17-Proverbs 17:28- Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.

18-Proverbs 18:8- The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body.

19-Proverbs 18:13- A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger

20-Proverbs 18:19 A brother who has been insulted is harder to win back than a walled city and arguments separate people like the barred gates of a palace.

21-Proverbs 18:20 People will be rewarded for what they say; they will be rewarded for how they speak.

22-Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

23-Proverbs 18:23 The poor beg for mercy, but the rich give rude answer.

24-Proverbs 21:23 Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

25- Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.

26-Proverbs 25:25 Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

27-Proverbs 26:20- Without wood, a fire will go out, and without gossip, quarreling will stop.

28-Proverbs 27:2 Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.

29-Proverbs 29:20 Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

30-Proverbs 30:32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

Could scripture be any more clear regarding the power of the words we choose to use? It’s up to us to use better words if we want better results. If these 30 messages from God do not ring loud and clear, I am not sure what God would need to do to impress upon us the true power of words. Perhaps you did not realize how important God told us words are,  maybe you forgot it, maybe you never knew it, but either way, now you know

Remember the old saying we used as kids “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” –boy, were we wrong. God says words will make us break us.

Ever notice the sales people and managers who are not selling are full of negative words? The words they use are words describing why it “can’t” be done.

Arm yourself with better words in 2015- Use google search to find synonyms for the words you currently use. Practice using better words in your meet and greet, fact finding, demonstration, presentation, objection overcoming, closes, and follow up. Start a list today of words you think may be better than the ones you are currently using. Better words means better results!

March on fellow Christian sales people! March on with the knowledge that the power of your words is large and in charge. Good selling in 2015 and beyond!

Very Well Said Bobby! Love replacing hate is a great place to start!

Don't accept a meal from a tightwad; don't accept anything special. He'll be as stingy with you as he is with himself; he'll say, "Eat! Drink!" but won't mean a word of it. His miserly serving will turn your stomach when you realize the meal's a sham. Proverbs 23:6-8

Replace the word Hate with Love is a great place to start by correcting the sales vocabulary.
