How Often Should I Post to My Dealership Blog?

One question I hear more often than others is, “How often should I post to my blog?” But to answer this question there are so many other related factors to consider it will take you burrowing down a deep rabbit h*** of other similar topics, such as:

  1. Why would a car dealer want to blog?
  2. What is blogging and how is it different from micro-blogging and social media?
  3. What type of content should you have on your dealership blog?
  4. And of course, how often should you be posting blogs?

To address these other important considerations, I started on an e-book white paper of sorts. It introduces these as topics from a strategic marketing point of view and how each ties in with how often you want to be publishing content and information in general.

You can read more about this topic on my posts titled, "Blog Posting Frequency for Car Dealers". I think it would be great to get a dialog going here or on my original post with those of you blogging for your dealership now (or at least attempting to).

I plan to make the white paper available next week to people on our mailing list so if you are interested in a copy then be sure to sign up with us while on the site. Signing up is free and the white paper will be too.

Yup. Good point Stephanie. In our white paper I put emphasis on dealers to do events and also supporting local causes because these things make for some of the best type of content for dealer blogs.

I don't blog for a dealership but for a supportive vendor to the industry.  There is one guideline that I think applies for dealerships or vendors.....only blog when you have real and relevant content.   Blogging just to blog or blogging because it is time to blog without relevant and real content is blogging suicide.  Quickly, you will alienate a readership that you have worked so hard to develop.  Readers read because they find something of interest or usefulness.  Provide that content in a proofread and clean format and you will continue to grow your readership.
