WAAI Announces 2012 Spirit of Leadership Event

Awards dinner and leadership retreat presented by the Women’s Automotive Association International honors professional women in the automotive industry

The Women’s Automotive Association International (WAAI) has announced the date for the 2012 Spirit of Leadership awards dinner and leadership retreat. The event will take place February 4^th and February 5^th, 2012, at The Venetian in Las Vegas.  The 13^th annual event honors professional women in the automotive industry.

This year’s event features the first annual first annual Invitation Only Leadership Retreat. Women participating in the retreat are some of North America’s biggest movers and shakers including keynote Terre Thomas, daughter of Danny Thomas, founder of St Jude Children’s Research Hospital who will be sharing her inspiring story. The small, intimate event will allow these power-players the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships that will be mutually beneficial.

Author and powerhouse Edie Hand is also a featured keynote. Edie shares with women of all ages the important journey of a woman’s worth through her 3’P’s. They are Passion, Perseverance, and Positive Projection.  In her program Edie shares some of the tales from her recent book with, co-author Tina Savas, entitled, “Women of True Grit.” Edie’s story-telling will encourage attendees to set the bar a little higher and pave the way a little farther.

This year’s honorees are Jodi Kippe, Partner at Crowe Horwath, Audrey Zavodsky, Professional racer and Cherie Watters, GM of Puente Hills.  Entertainment will be provided by Robbie Rhodes.
