Anyone know who got laid off at Cars.com?

Started Jan 9, 2015 0 Replies

In true Gannett style, Cars.com kicked 32 employees to the curb shortly after the Gannett buy. I'm also hearing that the Cars.com marketing budget will be cut back. Does anyone know who / what…Continue

Do you price according to your competitors' pricing?

I know that's probably a bit of a naive question, but if you're pricing for what the market will bear, what help do you turn to for that? What product? What is out there besides VinSolutions? Or are…Continue

How NOT to Blog, post and share content

Posted on August 31, 2014 at 1:36pm 0 Comments

Most of us know the value of online content, and so many who are not trained writers or editors are straying into the area of blog posting and sharing of others' Web content. Much of it is informational and shared by industry experts, which helps us all.

Some, however, are doing so in a way that violates others' rights and might even land them in court. A professional writer / author / blogger friend of mine was recently the victim of this, with his work not only reprinted without…

AutoTrader.com says social car-shopping rare; are you listing vehicles on social sites?

Posted on August 19, 2014 at 12:13pm 0 Comments

In its 2014 Automotive Buyer Influence Study, AutoTrader.com researchers determined that social media has little impact on auto sales, and traditional media as a shopper resource is heading continually downhill. In fact, only 7 percent of millennials turn to print newspapers to look for vehicles. And, after many have said that millennials aren't interested in buying vehicles, this study says that mobile-addicted millennials are the shoppers spurring the most change in the vehicle…

Additionally, one dealership GM said that he gave all his sales people an iPad so that they could find shoppers that were comparison shopping from their smartphones, look over the shoppers' shoulders, go to the same…

Actually showrooming is much simpler than that. With customers shopping now at less than 2 stores before they buy  - chances are - if they are at your store they probably will buy.
