I assign every lead what I call an "Internet Inquiry Number.  It's always the same number for everyone every time.  Here is a copy of my email:


Dear Allison!

This is a friendly reminder that you have an appointment at Shottenkirk Chevrolet of Quincy, sometime in the future at a time of our choosing.

I look forward to meeting you. Please print out this email, and when you arrive, give this Internet Inquiry Number to the receptionist at the Chevrolet store located at 1537 North 24th, at Locust.

When we were developing our processes (ongoing still) we used to be concerned about my salespersons getting skated. This is no longer the case however, as we have become a free resource to the sales staff at all three stores. We still like the Inquiry Number letter.

I like the "Phone first" philosophy... that's me all the way. Leads without phone #'s are nearly worthless. We could talk...I'm sure.
