I am a student of human nature, a natural leader and I am continually fulfilling my "purpose" by assisting others in identifying and fulfilling theirs.

I put relationships before revenue, and I have never had a problem with a lack of revenue. I measure my life's success by the number of people that I impact in such a way that whenever they hear that I have died, they will say, "I need to go pay my respects".

I believe that a good leader doesn't inspire "followers", they inspire "disciples", people who are so impressed and impacted by a person that they become more disciplined in their behaviors.

I love people. That is my gift and my desire for my wife, my children and the individuals that I teach and train; that they will learn to love people, even when they can't love the person, and always look for ways to positively impact the relationships that life puts in their path. When you do this, and put the "relationship" in front of the "revenue", people will look for reasons and ways to do business with you. .

About Me

I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks, making them more efficient in the area of heat retention. I translate ethnic slurs for Cuban refugees. I write award-winning operas. I manage time efficiently.

Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row. I woo women with my sensuous and godlike trombone playing. I can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and I cook 30-minute brownies in 20 minutes.

I am an expert in stucco, a veteran in love, and an outlaw in Peru. Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I play bluegrass cello. I have been scouted by the Mets. I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I'm bored, I build large suspension bridges in my yard. I enjoy urban hang gliding. On Wednesdays after school I repair electrical appliances free of charge.

I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy eveningwear. I don't perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. I have been caller number nine and have won the weekend passes. Last summer I toured New Jersey with a traveling centrifugal force demonstration. I bat .400. My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me. I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Moby Dick, and David Copperfield in one day and still had time to refurbish an entire dining room that evening.

I know the exact location of every food item in the supermarket. I have performed several covert operations for the CIA. I sleep once a week; when I do sleep, I sleep in a chair. While on vacation in Canada, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery. The laws of physics do not apply to me. I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and my bills are all paid. On weekends, to let off steam, I participate in full-contact origami.

Years ago I discovered the meaning of life, but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four-course meals using only a blender and a toaster oven. I breed prize-winning clams. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open-heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis.

Adaptation versus Adoption: How the Internet is Sucking the Craft out of the Retail Automotive Industry

Posted on April 26, 2015 at 4:00pm 2 Comments

Every week I am in a different dealership teaching, training and coaching on how to create incremental new and used vehicle sales, and every week I am disappointed by the way the retail automotive industry seems to be devolving.

On one hand, I suppose this is job security for a person in my position, Dealer Training Manager for a captive lender. On the other hand, it is and has been my passion and love for our industry that has made me successful, and to see the way dealerships… Continue

DELIBERATE INNOVATION

Posted on June 12, 2013 at 10:00am 1 Comment

I was leaving my hotel room one morning, getting ready to start my day. As I walked at my usual brisk pace down the hall towards the elevators, that’s when I saw it. The yellow tape, rolling toolbox and what appeared to be an elevator technician getting ready to go to work on one of the two elevators this hotel provides. This was significant to me because I was on the top floor, and I knew with only one of two elevators working I would most likely get to stop at every floor on the way down, and… Continue

PROFESSIONAL SALES PEOPLE HAVE A COMMON DENOMINATOR

These are the things that every successful communicator and sales person has in common.  There are skills that we develop and work on all the time to perfect our craft, however this one single trait is always a part of the DNA of the sales person who takes their vocation seriously.
